The Salon
You can find The Coterie Beauty Collective nestled just outside beautiful downtown Guelph’s core directly across from Market Fresh Gorcery, in a stunning historic Victorian building. This building has been renovated and restored. We can't wait for you to enjoy the warm and welcoming charm of this building while you visit for your hair experience. There is parking at the back of the salon or 2 hour street parking nearby.

SALON VALUES
We are committed to ongoing education for our stylists, and foster an inspiration-driven environment for both stylist and clients to be their best selves. We provide genderless services because everyone is welcome at The Coterie! Sustainability is paramount to us, and we are proudly a carbon-neutral, Green Circle Salon - this means that 95% of our salon waste is diverted from landfill and completely repurposed or recycled. You will also see this reflected in the choice of luxury products on our shelves, all with the environment in mind.
THE COTERIE TEAM
CHELSEA (FOUNDER)
Before this adventure, Chelsea (she/her) attended George Brown Fashion Design school and worked as a hair stylist for 15 years, having a passion for both fashion and beauty. She excels at curly and textured cuts, as well as colouring and cutting all types of hair. Under her belt are many extra qualifications, such as Deva Curl Training, Jane Matthews shag cutting/styling classes, balayage courses, numerous colour classes and offers Bonded & Tape in Hair extensions. Growing and learning is on the top of Chelsea’s list. Outside the salon, when she isn’t enjoying time with her kids and husband, Chelsea spends her time working as a nurse, sewing, designing and has been known to love running and cross country skiing while listening to her favourite murder mystery podcast.
HALEY (FOUNDER)
Haley (she/her) has always had an inclination to the hair and beauty industry, cutting and colouring her own hair as a teen, before pursuing a career in hair 10 years ago. She enjoys it all, but is known for her balayage, lived-in colours both dark & light, and low-maintenance designs. You may often find her talking about her dog Bowie (resident Coterie greeter and certified Goodest Girl), or all the places she daydreams about traveling to in between her backcountry camping trips in Algonquin park. When not in the salon, you can find her enjoying Guelph’s walking trails, spending money on more concert tickets, at the gym, or getting some really good takeout.
CAITLIN (*currently on mat leave)
Caitlin (she/her) has been in the salon industry for over 10 years. If you ask her, she’d say she loves the people part of being a hairstylist as much as the hair part! Her bubbly personality and great sense of humour are infectious.
Caitlin's range of talents includes precision cutting and barbering, lived-in blondes, and rich dimensional colours. She is always excited to give her clients a shape and style that best suits their personality and lifestyle.
When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll find her hiking with her pup, digging in her garden, or ordering an Americano at a local coffee shop. She’s a lover of good wine and Mac n’ cheese (from the box of course).
BRITTANY
With over 15 years' experience in Hairstyling, Brittany (she/her) brings a high level of professionalism with a strong creative outlook. From the ideal balayage to the perfect blonde, she can do it all. Brittany loves empowering people to feel good - not only on the outside by making you feel beautiful through hair expression, she's very passionate about making you feel beautiful on the inside as well. This inspiring mother of 2 can be found training in the gym or cooking healthy meals for her family. She loves the outdoors, being in the sun and anything to do with plants!
JEN
Jen (she/her) has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. She loves creating a look for her clients that compliments your personality and natural beauty. With having experience in it all, her main focus is on short textured cuts, bobs/lobs, formaldehyde-free smoothing treatments, balayage/foilyage, and colouring. Outside the salon, Jen enjoys spending time with her family, making healthy meals and baking with her son. An ideal night is sitting by the fireplace watching a Netflix series or reading a good book!
AMY
With a passion for precision and a fearless approach to creativity, Amy (she/her) specializes in transforming hair into works of art. As a master colourist and skilled barber, she blends technique with intuition, whether it's a flawless fade, bold colour transformation, or classic cut with a modern twist.
Amy believes that great hair isn't just about style - it's about confidence too. Her chair is a judgement-free zone where each client is welcomed, heard, and leaves feeling their best.
When she's not behind the chair, you can find her on the baseball field, diving into a new sport, or checking out a new food spot. Amy brings that same energy & curiosity into everything she does, on and off the salon floor.
SUZE
Suze (she/her) loves hair design & creativity, that everyone is unique, and there is no greater feeling than to have a guest leave feeling amazing and confident with their new look. She loves creating looks like lived-in blondes, bright beachy blondes, rich dimensional colours as well as long layered haircuts. Outside of the salon you can find her on a golf course/driving range, trying out new recipes or spending time with her family. In Suze's chair you can expect a thorough consultation where she will listen and use her knowledge to best assist you in achieving your hair goals.
JENNA (Salon Coordinator)
Jenna (she/her) is the face you’ll see walking into The Coterie and the voice you’ll usually get when you call. She keeps the space running smoothly and ensures that every guest feels welcomed, heard, and always has a seamless experience in the salon. She is our resident curly girl, and you can always count on her for some killer curly-haired product recommendations! In her free time you can find her rink-side at her kids’ games or catching up with the latest Bravo network episode (we love Summer House here).
KIKI (Apprentice/Coordinator)
Kiki (she/her) is an aspiring hairstylist with a strong passion for the beauty industry, and a goal of turning that passion into a career. She has been doing family’s hair for years, which is where her love for the craft began - making others feel confident and beautiful, while being creative. Outside of hair, she loves hiking, traveling, and spending time by the ocean! In those spare moments, you can usually find her shopping, outside with her pup, or alternatively cuddled up with her dog while digging into a new novel.
BOWIE (Salon Greeter/Resident Lovebug)
Bowie is our smiling, tail-wagging, happy little greeter that you may be welcomed by at your arrival in the salon. She is a sweet, calm girl who loves nothing more than a belly rub and a quick snooze on your feet while getting your colour done. You can tell all your secrets to her, she won’t spill any salon gossip (the best listener). Outside of work hours, Bowie enjoys snacking, snoozing, and playing in the snow.
